GST Calculator Online — Calculate Inclusive & Exclusive GST
The Goods and Services Tax (GST) is a unified multi-stage consumption tax levied on the manufacturing, sale, and consumption of goods and services. Whether you are an individual business owner generating customer invoices or a consumer verifying prices, calculating GST accurately is essential.
GST Calculation Formulas
1. GST Exclusive Formula (Adding GST to Base Price)
Used when adding tax to a net price:
GST Amount = (Net Price × GST Rate) ÷ 100
Total Post-Tax Price = Net Price + GST Amount
2. GST Inclusive Formula (Removing GST from MRP)
Used to find pre-tax base cost from a final inclusive price:
Net Base Price = Gross Price ÷ [1 + (GST Rate ÷ 100)]
GST Tax Amount = Gross Price - Net Base Price

For GST Exclusive: GST Amount = (Net Price × GST Rate) / 100. Total Price = Net Price + GST Amount. For example, on a ₹1,000 product with 18% GST, GST is ₹180 and Total Price is ₹1,180.
Net Price = Gross Price / (1 + GST Rate / 100). The GST Amount is Total Gross Price minus Net Price.
For intra-state transactions, the total GST is divided equally into Central GST (CGST) and State GST (SGST). For an 18% GST rate, 9% is CGST and 9% is SGST.
